In Maine, any new system that is installed or any major overhaul that is undertaken needs to have stamped drawings by a Maine Professional Engineer to ensure the mechanical systems meet local, state and federal codes, including ventilation and energy requirements. WE do this.

After getting their degrees, our engineers have to pass an arduous exam and become accredited as an "engineer in training." For the next 4 years they are apprenticed under a licensed engineer. When they pass another 8-hour exam, they are licensed. Every year after that, they are still required to accumulate 15 additional credit hours to keep a valid license. Then, and only then, are they allowed to stamp your drawings.
