A Regular checkup Can Save You Money – Here are some of the steps we take:
- Clean and overhaul your fuel-fired boiler or furnace before the heating season. Less soot means more efficiency.
- Check operating controls and safety devices annually.
- Inspect systems for damage and leakage.
- Clean the coils in heating and air conditioning systems to maximize system capacity and efficiency.
- Inspect ducts and piping for missing or damaged insulation.
- Adjust temperature and humidity setpoints seasonally.
- Check for obstructions that block air flow around radiators, intakes and diffusers.
- Replace Air Filters – Your system will work better and a good air filter will improve your air quality.
- Analyze repairs as an investment. Sometimes it is better to upgrade the equipment. Inexpensive modifications such as installing programmable thermostats and cleaning or replacing your filters can often reduce your energy costs.

All our licensed technicians have the required State of Maine licenses, oil-all grades and capacities, propane, natural gas, and, we meet or exceed OSHA regulations on all cleanings. Video Inspections
We have robotic, fiber optic and hand-held cameras that can inspect your equipment and provide video documentation of your equipment's condition. This can help you plan for equipment replacement and help avoid unexpected and costly failures.
During a recent internal inspection of a boiler, corrosion was found in the water wall of the boiler. The photo top left shows a boiler stay in good condition. The photo beneath it was taken during the internal boiler inspection and shows a badly corroded stay.
Information gained during inspections allows our clients to plan for equipment repairs or replacements rather than react to expensive emergency situations when the equipment fails unexpectedly.
Equipment failure can cause more than a "no heat" call. Because when stays fail, the boiling water in the water jacket of the boiler can escape, covering your boiler room floor and presenting the very real threat of the dry boiler blowing up.
